How do I configure my existing modem to Vodafone settings?
If you use your own router with your Vodafone At Home Broadband, you must configure the hardware settings manually.
The following are the values you need to configure your router (you must refer to your router's instructions to access those settings):
Username: vodafone@vodafone.ie
Password: broadband
Encapsulation: PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet)
Multiplexing: LLC-based
VPI: 8
VCI: 35
MTU: use default setting
DNS: auto assigned
Preferred DNS: 89.19.64.164
Alternate DNS: 89.19.64.36
Instructions for the BT Voyager modem
1. Open your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari etc).
2. Enter http://192.168.1.1 in the web browser’s address field and press enter or return
3. You will see the Broadband login details page.
4. Use the following settings:
Username: vodafone@vodafone.ie
Password: broadband
5. Click on the Connect button to establish the connection and save these entries.
Instructions for the Netopia modem
1. Open your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari etc).
2. Enter http://192.168.1.254 in the web browser’s address field and press enter or return.
3. Click Expert mode and select Yes, enter expert mode when prompted.
4. Click on the Configure link on the left hand side.
5. Click Connection and this will bring up the connection settings screen.
6. Use the following settings:
Username: vodafone@vodafone.ie
Password: broadband
7. Click on the Save changes button to save these entries.
Instructions for the Zyxel modem
1. Open your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari etc)
2. Enter http://192.168.1.1 in the address field and press enter or return.
3. Login to the router using the following details:
Username: admin
Password: 1234
You may have already changed the password at some point, and if you did, use that one. If you are prompted to change your password, click ignore to continue. We recommend you do change it for security.
4. Click Wizard Setup.
5. On the first page of the Wizard Setup, click next.
6. On the second page, remove any username and password and enter your Vodafone username and password.
7. Click next.
8. On the next page, click log on to the internet or Save Settings.
Instructions for the Netgear modem
1. Connect to the router by typing http://www.routerlogin.net in the address field of your browser, then press enter or return.
2. Login to the router using the following details:
Username: admin
Password: password
3. Then enter the following Vodafone login details
Username: vodafone@vodafone.ie
Password: broadband
