On occasion the modem can be made to install by using the “Safe mode” option in Windows. To access this troubleshooting mode, shut down the computer, wait 60 seconds then switch the computer on while tapping the F8 key as the system restarts.

Select Safe Mode with Networking using the arrow keys and press Enter. Proceed with the installation as normal and restart once installed.

Many of the issues that can occur with the modem can often be caused by removing the modem without using the Safely Remove Hardware icon or shutting down the Vodafone software or computer before removing the modem. To help avoid these issues please follow the steps below

Check that when removing the modem that the Vodafone Mobile Connect software has been shut down by clicking File in the top left of the software, then clicking Exit, then when prompted if you want to close the software click Yes. You can then use the Safely Remove Hardware icon beside the clock (sometimes you will need to click the arrow pointing to the left beside the clock for this to appear).

Shutting down the computer and then removing the modem will also not cause an issue.
